Hay Feeder Box

My horse hay feeder boxes are hand crafted in my own workshop, constructed from pressure treated timber. Where the timber is cross cut to length I also treat the freshly exposed end grain to protect from rot and insect attack.

Slatted sides and base allow air to circulate.

Buffer boards are fitted  to keep contents free from contact with the ground and allow for good drainage.

Features

Pressure-treated wood is more resistant to weathering, bugs, mold, and rot. It also has improved dimensional stability, which means it’s less likely to warp or split. Cut ends are additionally treated in my workshop.

Anti-corrosion green carbon steel screws are plated to withstand up to 500 hours in a salt spray cabinet and provide secure fixing.

Buffer boards are fitted to the underside to keep your hay clear of even the softest of ground and provide constant air circulation

By making these hay feeder boxes semi assembled and easy to complete, cost is kept to a minimum.

Delivery;

In order to keep delivery costs down the hay feeder box will be divided into two parcels, each parcel having a fully completed side, and half of the remaining boards. These are anchored down and corner protected for transit.

Assembly;

Assembly to finish is a 20 minute job, and the consignment includes all pilot holes pre-drilled accurately, all screws, screwdriver bits, and explicit instructions for assured integrity.

I try to always keep small stock level of hay boxes so that delivery time is kept to a minimum. If demand is high there may be a production time of two working days prior to dispatch.
